The “Digital City Round Table” format is entering the next round – be there!

Back to the overview

The “Digital City Round Table” format, a joint offering by Digital City Darmstadt and the House of Digital Transformation, addresses various aspects of digitalization and provides information and exchange for companies in the Rhine-Main area.

We are pleased to invite you to the “Round Table: Digitalization, AI, Data Platform: What does the Digital City offer companies?” on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, starting at 6 p.m.

In a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Humm, computer science professor at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and founding member of the Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence (hessian.AI), you will learn what AI offers today and how you can use it for your company.

“It’s not important to use the latest technology, but to create real value,” is Prof. Humm’s thesis on AI systems. Humm is particularly committed to keeping an eye on the impact of AI systems on society. Last year, he published the book “Knowledge-Based AI Applications,” which addresses technological and architectural best practices, for example, in AI-supported search for use in companies. Immerse yourself in the possibilities of AI, gain inspiration from his lecture, and discuss his publications and theses.

In his presentation, Jörn Hedderich, Managing Director and founder of ink solutions GmbH, will present the EU digital strategy and highlight opportunities for digital companies.

Breaking up data monopolies and making data treasures available to European companies – this is the goal the EU is pursuing with new laws such as the Digital Markets Act and the Data Act. This presentation will provide an overview of the new legal situation and its opportunities for companies.

Afterwards, José David da Torre Suárez, Managing Director of Digitalstadt Darmstadt GmbH, will inform you about the Digitalstadt Darmstadt data platform and the current developments.

In his presentation, you’ll first learn how various data from everyday urban life is collected, processed, networked, analyzed, and then presented in visual form. The goal of the data platform is to support and accelerate necessary urban decision-making and planning processes through the availability and analysis of networked data. Da Torre will keep a constant focus in his presentation on how the data platform can benefit your company.

Before we end the evening together, exciting Darmstadt start-ups will have their say in a panel discussion and present their developments and ideas for the digital future of companies.

  • Participating in this project is I3DEnergy, which is developing an advanced energy management platform. Using AI and digital twin technology, it offers automated energy data management and analytics, as well as carbon accounting, to support reporting requirements and significantly reduce energy costs and emissions for manufacturing companies.
  • The startup AssistIng supports companies in digitizing production. To this end, AssistIng develops suitable use cases with primarily medium-sized customers, evaluates them, and implements them vendor-neutrally.
  • And last but not least, Eloquest, an NLP service provider, will present its developments of assistance systems for the creation of documents in pharmaceutical regulatory matters, which help you classify use cases and relieve text workers of boring and redundant work.

Let us further explore the ideas we have heard in discussions and use the evening to network with other companies, start-ups and experts.

The event will take place at the premises of COUNT+CARE GmbH & Co. KG at Frankfurter Straße 100 (entrance via ENTEGA) in Darmstadt.
