SV Darmstadt 98, together with its long-standing partner, the green energy and telecommunications provider ENTEGA, has installed around 2,900 photovoltaic modules on the roofs of the main stand and the back straight of the Merck Stadium at B\u00f6llenfalltor, covering a total area of \u200b\u200balmost 5,700 square meters. The system went into operation in mid-March. <\/p>\n
The photovoltaic system is almost as large as the lawn. The system has an output of approximately 1,200 kWp, making it the largest photovoltaic system in Darmstadt. It could theoretically supply 450 households with green electricity annually. Compared to the German electricity mix, it avoids approximately 840 tons of CO2 emissions annually. <\/p>\n
SV 98 can use the green electricity generated by the system directly in the stadium. According to ENTEGA’s calculations, approximately 46 percent of the electricity produced by the photovoltaic system can be used directly in the stadium. The remaining electricity can be used for the neighboring functional building. Electricity not used by SV 98 itself is fed into the e-netz S\u00fcdhessen distribution grid via ENTEGA as green electricity, thus reaching Darmstadt households. <\/p>\n

Through a fixed-interest subordinated loan, we offer all interested parties the opportunity to actively invest in the energy transition and also participate financially.”<\/p>\n

The plant is operated by ENTEGA’s subsidiary ENTEGA NATURpur AG, which initiated and financed the project. The plant was constructed by its sister company Energy Project Solutions GmbH. <\/p>\n
